Good Afternoon Internet!

How are we doing today? well? I hope so. It’s a beautiful sunny day here in the south of the UK, the puppy is asleep on the sofa behind me, the house is squared away for the weekend, and I have a few minutes spare to tell you about the actual release of my new book The Jade Eagle.

You may have heard. I wrote a book. It’s out now. You can buy it and read it and tell me what you think of it.

I may have mentioned it once. Or twice. Possibly.

Anyway- turns out I actually sold my first two copies before I even knew it was possible.

I’d been trying to get the manuscript up for a couple of days, things kept getting in the way. This was on the back of revisions, edits coming in, trying to square up the cover art, the day job getting all complicated for a minute or two, as well as the usual house/dog/day to day stuff. I was getting, to put it mildly, miffed.

I pulled the trigger and just converted the word doc, slapped it through Calibre to epub, and threw the whole thing at Amazon, Kobo and Nook in one evening.

And waited.

Turns out they have a 72 hour ‘we’re looking at your submission and thinking about it’ window before your novel can go live.

(All the established ebook authors are now nodding like ‘Yes Frankie, did you think it just went live immediately? What a silly sausage you are’.

I did think it would be available straight away. I was wrong. Over the next day, I and my household refreshed pages to constant little disappointments and I got sucked into the day job properly.

Come the day- I walk out of a video conference to Sweetie in the dining room and she’s all ‘I’ve got this greeeeeeaaaat book, you should read it! lol!’. Takes me a good few seconds to figure out from the gleeful grin she’s reading my book.

My actual book, officially, purchased from a retailer and everything.

Cue much squealing on her part, confusion on my part, and excitement on the part of the dog who assumed (as with all things) perhaps a Human would give him some Chicken.

Apparently, Husbear was upstairs having bought the first copy and told Sweetie about it. I was in said day job call and had missed the entire debacle. Had no clue.

Obviously, the rest of the evening was spent WhatsApp-ing people and sharing links, and absolutely not obsessively refreshing my kindle direct reports page to see how many copies were sold, and on another tab the Erotica BDSM New Releases page to see where I was in the Top 100 (29 by the way, and rising!!)

All in all, not a bad way to find out you’ve officially started your Paid Author Career, and I thank each and every one of you for the social media interactions, for reading my ramblings, and for being here with me.

I really, really hope you like the book!

Love all, Frankie xx
